Heidi Klum was conceived in the German city of Bergisch Gladbach in June of 1973. Erna Klum was Heidi's maternal grandmother, was a professional hairdresser. Gunther was her father, and was a high-ranking executive for a cosmetics manufacturer. Heidi's father was previously the producer of 4711, a perfume company. Heidi was raised in the birthplace of Bergisch Gladbach a city of around 100,000 people just six miles to the east of Cologne. Heidi Klum was a model who came from Germany. Klum competed against 25,000 other contestants across Germany, Europe and beyond until she made it to third place. She was the winner in April 1992 of the highest prize of $300,000.
